Yoshida Kogyo Kabushikikaisha (YKK®) is a Japanese company founded in 1934 and is globally recognized as the largest manufacturer of high-quality zippers.
Why do we use YKK® zippers in our pants?
Proven durability:
YKK® zippers are designed to withstand thousands of use cycles. They perform well under extreme conditions such as heat, dust, water, or strong tension—situations where other zippers may break or separate.
Greater safety and reliability:
In workwear, a failing zipper can cause discomfort or even create risk. YKK® provides functional safety, which is essential for technical garments.
Consistent quality:
Generic brands can vary greatly in quality from one batch to another. YKK®, on the other hand, maintains very strict global standards, ensuring that every zipper is reliable and consistent.
Unlike many generic brands, YKK® manufactures all zipper components in-house (teeth, tape, slider, etc.). This guarantees smooth and precise operation, avoiding the common jams or failures seen in low-quality zippers.
What is Cordura®?
It is a high-strength technical fabric, ideal for heavy-duty workwear. It was developed by DuPont in 1967 and is now used worldwide for its durability against abrasion, tears, and extreme wear.
We use this innovative fabric in the areas exposed to the most stress: back pockets, flaps, knees, and hem, providing:
High abrasion resistance:
Cordura® withstands continuous friction far better than cotton or polyester. This is crucial in areas like the knees, hem, and pockets, which wear out quickly with daily use.
Greater durability:
Pants reinforced with Cordura® last significantly longer, even in heavy-duty work. They reduce premature wear and maintain structural integrity against tears, snags, or rough surfaces where other fabrics typically fail.
Lightweight:
Despite its strength, Cordura® is lightweight. It offers protection without making the garment heavy or uncomfortable.
Quick-drying and low moisture absorption:
Unlike cotton, Cordura® does not retain moisture, helping keep you dry and comfortable throughout the workday.
